How the French Stay Thin!

I was wondering how the french are so skinny when they eat a lot of rich foods.  I was looking on madebig and found an answer in a vibe that I found.  In the vibe it said that the reason that the French are able to eat whatever they want and still stay skinny, is that they watch how much they eat.  They don’t eat a lot all at once.  They eat their food in portions.

Some other ways that the French use to stay skinny are:

  • Remember it is quality that counts, not quantity.
  • Take smaller bites and finish each competely before taking the next one.
  • Have a certain amount of dairy fat and olive oil with meals.
  • Eat food, not “products”. Avoid processed items.
  • Dine slowly.
  • Drink a glass of wine with meals.
  • Eat dessert – but save room for it by having smaller portions of other courses.
  • Finish each meal with a small cup of good, strong coffee.

Herbal Detoxification

I wanted to find information on how to detoxify the body.  I want to be able to clean out my colon, because in my family there is a history of colon cancer and I heard that if you cleanse it then your risks go down.  I might try it after I find out all that I can about it.

I found a website with some recipes and information on it.  I just want to have a lower risk at getting it.  The Detoxification also helps you lose weight, even though that’s not the reason that I’m doing it for, some people do, use it to lose weight.

If you want more information on Herbal Detoxification you can look it up on google.com and it will pull up some information that could be useful to you or a friend or family member.

Relieve Stress with Fruit

I was searching in madebig for a vibe on how to relieve stress without gaining weight.  I found a vibe that really helped me out in it, it gave advice on what to eat when you are stressed.  Some of the advice is:

Berries

Berries, any berries eat them one by one instead of M&M’s when the pressure’s
on. For those tough times when tension tightens your jaw, try rolling a frozen berry
around in your mouth. and then another and another,  since the carbs in berries
turn to sugar very slowly. You won’t have a blood sugar crash. The bonus: They’re
good source of vitamin C, Which helps fight a jump in the stress hormone cortisol

 Guacamole

If you’re craving something creamy, look no further, avacados are loaded with B Vitamins, which stress quickly depletes and which your body needs to maintain nerves and brain cells. Plus their creaminess comes from healthy fat. Scoop up the stuff with whole-grain baked chips-crunchine keeps you from gritting your teeth.

Mixed Nuts: Just an ounce will help replace those stress-depleted BS (Walnuts), give you whopping amount of zinc(Brazil Nuts)-it also drained by high anxiety-and boost your E(Almonds), which helps fight cellular damage linked to chronic stress. Buy nuts in the shell and think of it as multi-tasking: with every squeeze of the nutcracker, you’re releasing a little bit of tension.

Oranges

Oranges: People who take a 1000 MG of C before giving a speech have lower levels of
cortisol and lower blood pressure than those who don’t. So lean back, take a deep breath, and concentrate on peeling a large orange, the 5 minute mindfulness break will ease your mind and you’ll get a bunch of C as well.

Asparagas. Chai Tea, and Dark Chocolate

Asparagas: Each tencer stalk is a source of folic acid, a Natural mood lightner.
Dip the spears in fat-free yogurt of sour cream for a bit of calcium with each bite.

Chai Tea: A warm drink is a super soother, and curling up with a cup of aromatic
decaf Chai Tea (Tazo makes ready-to-brew bags) can make the whole evil day go away.

Dark Chocolate: Okay, there’s nothing in it that relieves stress, but when only chocolate will do, reach for the dark, sultry kind that’s at least 70% cocoa. You figure if the antioxidant flavonoids in it are potent enough to fight cancer there good enough for me.

The Secret Behind the Number 11

My aunt me an email that was pretty interesting.
It gives some interesting ideas about September 11, it is really weird.  I think whoever thought of this had a lot of time on their hands in order to come up with so many things that related to September 11 involving the number 11.

The Secret behind the number 11 – Pretty Chilling
Read to the bottom.  Try it out.  I did and I got goose bumps
If you are a sceptical person – still read on as it’s actually very
interesting!!

This is actually really freaky!! (Mainly the end part, but read it
first)
1) New York City has 11 letters
2) Afghanistan has 11 letters.
3) Ramsin Yuseb has 11 letters .   (The terrorist who threatened to
destroy the Twin Towers in   1993)
4) George W Bush has 11 letters.
This could be a mere coincidence, but this gets interesting:
1) New York is the 11th state.
2) The first plane crashing against the Twin Towers was flight number
11.
3) Flight 11 was carrying 92 passengers. 9 + 2 = 11
4) Flight 77 which also hit Twin Towers, was carrying 65   passengers.
6+5 = 11
5) The tragedy was on September 11, or 9/11 as it is now known. 9 + 1+ 1
=11
6) The date is equal to the US emergency services telephone number 911.

      9 +   1 + 1 = 11

Sheer coincidence..?! Read on and make
Up your own mind:

1) The total number of victims inside all the hi-jacked planes was 254.

     2 +   5 + 4 = 11.
2) September 11 is day number 254 of the calendar year.
     Again 2 + 5 + 4 =   11.
3) The Madrid   bombing took place on 3/11/2004. 3 + 1 + 1 + 2 + 4 = 11.

4) The tragedy of Madrid happened 911 days after the Twin Towers
incident.

Now this is where things get totally eerie:

The most recognized symbol for the US, after the Stars & Stripes, is the
Eagle. The following verse is taken from the Koran, the Islamic holy
book:

“For it is written that a son of Arabia would awaken a fearsome Eagle.
The
Wrath of the Eagle would be felt throughout the lands of Allah while
some
Of the people trembled in despair still more rejoiced: for the wrath of
the
Eagle cleansed the lands of Allah and there was peace.”

That verse is number 9.11 of the Koran.
Unconvinced about all of this Still .?!

Try this and see how you feel   afterwards, it made my hair stand on
end:

Open Microsoft Word and do the following:
1. Type in capitals Q33 NY. This is the flight number of the first plane
to hit one of the Twin Towers.
2. Highlight the Q33 NY.
3. Change the font size to 48.
4. Change the actual font to the WINGDINGS   1
   What do you think now?!!

Q33 NY

Annual Senior Citizen Test

I found this test on madebig and I thought it was pretty cool so good luck!

“It’s that time of year to take your Annual Senior Citizen test.”

Exercise of the brain is as important as exercise of the muscles. As we grow older, it’s important to keep mentally alert. If you don’t use it, you lose it! Below is a very private way to gauge your loss or non-loss of intelligence.

Take the test presented here to determine if you’re losing it or not. The spaces below are so you don’t see the answers until you’ve made your answer.

OK, relax, clear your mind and begin.

Question Number 1

1. What do you put in a toaster?

Answer: Cows drink water. If you said “milk,” don’t attempt the next question. Your brain is over-stressed and may even overheat. Content yourself with reading a more appropriate literature such as Auto World. However, if you said “water”, proceed to question 3.

If you said “glass,” go on to Question 4.

Question Number 4

 4. It’s twenty years ago, and a plane is flying at 20,000 feet over Germany (If you will recall, Germany at the time was politically divided into West Germany and East Germany .) Anyway, during the flight, TWO engines fail. The pilot, realizing that the last remaining engine is also failing, decides on a crash landing procedure.  Unfortunately the engine fails before he can do so and the plane fatally crashes smack-dab in the middle of “no man’s land” between East Germany and West Germany .
“Where would you bury the survivors? East Germany, West Germany, or no man’s land”?

Funeral Joke

I found this joke on madebig, I found it too funny to not share.  Its said yet funny at the same time.  I hope that you enjoy it and get a good laugh out of it.

An elderly Italian man lay dying in his bed. While suffering the agonies of impending death, he suddenly smelled the aroma of his favorite Italian cookies. With all his remaining strength, he lifted himself from the bed. Leaning against the wall, he slowly greater effort, gripping the railing with both hands, he crawled downstairs. With labored breath, he leaned against the doorframe, gazing into the kitchen. Were it not for death’s agony, he would have thought himself already in heaven. There, spread out upon waxed paper on the kitchen table, were literally hundreds of his favorite anisette cookies. Was it heaven? Or was it one final act of heroic love from his devoted Italian wife of sixty years, seeing to it that he left this world a happy man? Mustering one great final effort, he threw himself towards the table, the wondrous taste of the cookie was already in his mouth, seemingly bringing him back to life. The aged and withered hand trembled on its way to a cookie at the edge of the table, when it was suddenly smacked hard with a spatula by his
wife.

“GET OUT OF HERE!” she shouted,

“THEY’RE FOR THE FUNERAL!”

Immune System

I have been really interested in the immune system lately.  I just want to be able to strengthen it so that I wont get sick.  I found a vibe on madebig that talked a lot about the immune system.

When it is properly taken care of,the Immune System is the ultimate bodyguard and can prevent illness before it takes hold.In recent decades, immune impairment has become a major concern among health professionals. It directly influences our health but most of us know little or nothing about it.Stress, diet, and lack of activity influences the immune system. What most people don’t realize is without it we would not live very long. Thus people with compromised immune systems such as those under going chemo therapy or have hiv or other compromising problems are very prone to illness. Our immune system fights against potential health dangers by identifying and eliminating dangerous and unfamilar particles, including bacteria and viruses. In other words,a healthy immune system can identify foeign cells or pathogens and effectively eliminate them. A healthy immune system is all about balance.Different stressers like bacteria, parasites, pollutants, strong emotions and improper diet, can cause the system to become imbalanced. When weakened ,the immune system basically becomes unbalanced, and when that happens,it is less able to fight against invading antigens.

EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique)

My aunt does EFT.  It helps people be able to get rid of problems that are caused by your emotions and past experiences.  I found a cite with more information on it.

The definition of EFT is: Alternative Healing that often works where nothing else will.

Dangers of Splenda

I was looking on madebigs vibes and found one on the dangers of splenda.  I found that since I read this article I wont use splenda anymore because of what it said.

It says:

Johnson & Johnson claims that “Splenda is made from sugar, so it tastes like sugar”. Johnson & Johnson wants consumers to think that it is natural sugar without calories. The truth is that Splenda is not natural and does not taste like sugar. The sweetness of Splenda derives from a chlorocarbon chemical that contains three atoms of chlorine in every one of its molecules. The manufacturer of this chlorinated compound named it sucralose. The improper use of “ose” in the name creates the illusion that sucralose is natural like sucrose which is the precise name for table sugar. Johnson & Johnson wants consumers to believe that the taste of Splenda is due solely to natural sugar, that is, due to sucrose. However, the manufacturer has patented several chemical processes for making the chlorinated chemical compound it calls sucralose. The patent literature illustrates that sucralose can be chemically manufactured from starting materials that do not require natural sugar. In one patent, for example, the manufacturer constructs sucralose from raffinose by substituting atoms of chlorine for hydroxyl groups in raffinose. Raffinose is a molecule found naturally in beans, and onions and other plants, but unlike natural sucrose, it has very little taste. In another patented process three atoms of chlorine are substituted for three hydroxyl groups in sucrose. The end product of both of these manufacturing processes is an entirely new chlorocarbon chemical called sucralose. Each molecule of sucralose contains three atoms of chlorine which makes it 600 times sweeter than a natural molecule of sugar which contains no chlorine. Splenda has it’s own artificial taste which is due to this chlorinated compound.

There have been no long-term human studies conducted to determine the potential health effects of Splenda on humans, including children. Until long-term human studies are conducted, no one will know for sure whether Splenda is really safe or unsafe for humans to eat.

There has not been a single long-term human study to determine the potential health effects of Splenda on people. The FDA relied on a few short-term tests when it reviewed the safety of Splenda for human consumption. Worse, these human tests were all conducted by the manufacturer of Splenda, hardly an unbiased source. The vast majority of tests reviewed by the FDA to determine whether Splenda was safe for human consumption were conducted on animals, including rats and rabbits.

Splenda is found in nearly 3,500 food products and amazingly, not all of these products list Splenda as an ingredient, and none of them say the product contains chlorine. Furthermore, none of the regulatory agencies or scientific review bodies that have confirmed the safety of sucralose require any warning information to be placed on the labels of products sweetened with sucralose. Consumers have a right to know exactly what is contained in the food products they buy for themselves and, particularly, for their children. Consumers should be provided with information that allows them to make educated choices about the food products they include in their diets. This is especially true for products that contain Splenda, a chemical substance made with chlorine that has not been the subject of any long-term human studies to determine its health effects on the human body.

The manufacturer of Splenda claims that chlorine is naturally present in such foods as lettuce, mushrooms and table salt, but they never directly state that eating Splenda is the same as eating these foods. Remember, Splenda is not a natural substance, it is an artificial chemical sweetener manufactured by adding three chlorine atoms to a sugar molecule. And again, because there have been no long-term human studies on Splenda to determine the potential health effects on people, no one can say with certainty that the substance is safe to eat.

WakeBoarding

This year I am  going to learn how to wake board. I have wanted to the last couple of years but I always got scared before it was my turn to try it.  I have a brother-in-law who does flips on the wake board and other fun tricks.  I dont think that I can ever be as good as him, since he goes with a friend every week.

I love just being out in the lake, to me it is very relaxing and I could be out there forever and not get sick of it.  I wish that I could go boating everyday!
